Vivian Farmer Wilson, also known as Sally, daughter of the late Hester Katherine Daniel Evan Farmer and Angie Smith Farmer was born June 11, 1931 in Mingo junction, Ohio. She attended and graduated from Wintersville High School in 1949.
Sally was married to Arthur Joseph Wilson in 1955. Arthur Wilson preceded her death on May 26, 2009. She quietly departed this life on May 8, 2025. Like her husband of over 50 years, Sally worked for the U.S. government for over 50 years, with her last position as a government employee at the Pentagon.
Sally had a kind, sweet, generous personality who always put the needs of others ahead of her own, and she was loved by many. In her Southeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood of Capitol Hill, she was known as Mrs. Wilson and would enjoy her weekend walks up to shop at the Eastern Market while speaking to friends and neighbors along the way. She also liked gardening and cared for her rose bushes that grew in the rare "side yard" of her Capitol Hill home.
Later in life Sally loved traveling to New York and Atlantic City, New Jersey to be with her sister Mary Crawley and Ralph Crawley. And, after those trips, she would travel to California and Sweden to spend time with her grandson Moses Wilson.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Darrick Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Michael Wilson, her grandson Moses Wilson, her daughter-in-law Simone Rodman Wilson, devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, and household pets.
A celebration of Vivian's life will take place on Friday, May 23rd, at Cedar Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the service.
Following the celebration, Vivian will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
