Vernon Ray Patten, Sr. was born on June 8, 1954 in Edgefield, South Carolina to the union of Ruby S. and the late James Rufus Patten. He made his transition on Thursday, September 20, 2007 in Washington, DC.
He is survived by his loving wife Cathy Marlette Patten; two sons, Vernon Patten, Jr. and Kevin James Patten; one daughter, Crystal Marlette Patten; four grandchildren; his mother, Ruby Patten; four brothers, four sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at the First Church of Seventh Day Adventist, 810 Shepherd Street, NW, Washington, DC. Interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland.
