Ulysses Williams was born on May 20, 1941 in Pendleton, South Carolina to the union of the late Willie, Jr. and Mattie Austin Williams; he made his transition to his Heavenly home on May 17, 2007 in Clinton, Maryland to be reunited with his beloved wife, Jannie, who made her transition on May 9, 2007.
Ulysses was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony on July 24, 1959 to the late Jannie Marie Williams; this union was blessed with two daughters.
Ulysses owned and operated an automobile reconditioning shop for a number of years before beginning a career as a taxi cab driver. He enjoyed his customers, driving them to and from destination after destination.
Ulysses loved his truck, taking care of it was his hobbie.
The great joy of his life was Jannie, he loved her until the very end of her earthly journey. They are together again forever; happy, healthy and free from all of the cares and sorrows of this world.
Ulysses leaves to cherish the memories of his love and legacy; two daughters, Jennicke Williams-Dall (Marcel)son-in-law and Janet Williams-Ziegler (David) son-in-law; six grandchildren, one great grandchild; two sisters, Gervine Anderson and Lena Green; two brothers-in-law, John Green and Johnny Williams; five sisters-in-law, Margaret Simmons, Katie Taylor, Katherine Byrd, Peggy Jenkins and Ruby Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Graveside service and interment will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland. Family and friends will assemble at the Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, Maryland at 11:30 AM.
