Shirley Anne Whetstone

May 18, 1945 – September 28, 2021

Shirley passed peacefully from this life the morning of September 28 ^th after a gradual decline in health.  Shirley was born and raised in Washington, DC, then later moved to Forestville, Maryland where she lived the remainder of her life.

After graduating from Joel Elias Spingarn High School in 1963, she worked at the Library of Congress, first in the Photoduplication Division, and then in the Geography and Maps Division until her retirement.

Shirley is survived by a host of friends.  She was preceded in death by her father Eugene Wesley Whetstone, her mother Teressa McMillan Thomas, and her sister Patricia Whetstone Johnson.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 7 ^th at 10:00 a.m.  Location: Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, MD 20746
