Shirley Rosa Cureton, born in Washington DC on June 21, 1947 to Ophelia Reid, peacefully passed away on June 19, 2024.

Shirley touched the lives of many as a devoted mother, a nurturing grandmother, a caring sister, a beloved aunt, and a loyal friend. Her warm spirit and kind heart endeared her to all who knew her, and her absence will be keenly felt by those who had the privilege of sharing in her love and presence.

Known for her affinity for the color red, Shirley's vibrant personality and zest for life shone brightly in everything she did. Her love and compassion knew no bounds, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A celebration of Shirley's life will take place on July 2nd at Cedar Hill Funeral Home. The family will be available to receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by a service to honor and remember her. After the service, Shirley will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery, a final resting place befitting a woman who brought light and love to the lives of those around her. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
