Obituary

Ruby Crayton Frye was born on January 5, 1927 in South Hill, Virginia to the late Ned and Fannie Crayton. She was the "baby girl" of eleven brothers and sisters. In the early hours of Monday morning, May 14, 2007, Ruby quietly slipped away for her eternal rest.
Ruby attended school in South Hill, Virginia, where she graduated as class valedictorian. She played softball on her high school team.
In 1948 Ruby was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Benjamin Frye.
Ruby was blessed with seven children: Tyrone Crayton, Anita Moore, Anthony Frye, I, Melva Frye, Wayne Frye, Darnell Frye and Edwina Frye.
Ruby worked at the U.S. Soldiers Home for many years. When she retired she spent most of her time cooking for her family and taking care of her grand and great-grandchildren. She loved having company to visit her; there was always someone visiting. Her doors were always open and she fed anyone who needed a meal.
We will carry her in our hearts FOREVER.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her seven children; a sister, Mary Louise Crayton-Davis; eleven grandchildren, Patrice, Carlene, Lakisha, Anthony II, Darryl, Tamika, Stephon, Jari, Ronice, Jeron and David; five great grandchildren, Markis, Diamond, Kalyse, Anthony III and Markel; one son-in-law, Robert Moore; two daughters-in-law Gloria Grayton and Jewel Beasley and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 11:30 AM until the service at 12:30 PM in the Chapel of the Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, Maryland. Interment in the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland.
