Richard M. "Dick" Bowen, 77, of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away on July 2, 2024.

Born on March 10, 1947, in Falls Church, Richard was the son of the late Russell M. and Dorothea S. Bowen.

Richard graduated from JEB Stuart High School in 1965 where he was a member of the wrestling team. He continued his education at the Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

After working as assistant pro at Evergreen Country Club, Richard began a career in Federal government service with the U.S Department of Energy as a Budget Analyst in the office of Fossil Energy. After Spending more than 20 Years at the Department of Energy, Richard retired in 1998.

In retirement, Richard Enjoyed golf, Bowling and following the successes of the Penn State football and wrestling teams. Richard was a passionate and highly skilled golfer and was a member of Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket, VA for over 40 years. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in weekly leagues all of his adult life.

Surviving are several cousins and their families.

An interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD will be held on Thursday July 18th at 12:00noon.
