Regina Mathilda Hall, age 65, of Fort Washington, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. Born in Washington, D.C., on December 30, 1958, Regina was a beloved woman whose warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was deeply cherished and respected by her family, friends, and colleagues.
Regina's love, laughter, and spirit will live on in each of us. She was a beacon of strength, love, joy, and her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.
She attended Dunbar Senior High School and went on to complete her education at Prince George's Community College. Regina's career was defined by a life of service and compassion. For over 15 years, she worked at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., caring for babies in the NICU and patients in the emergency room. Regina's nurturing spirit and tireless dedication made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless families. Even after facing health challenges, she would later marry Vance Hall Sr., reentered the workforce, spending more than a decade with Dr. David O'Neal & Associates. Also, Regina was a member of Greater Revelation Baptist Church.
Regina's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love for them was boundless, and her devotion was unwavering.
Regina was also a loving and devoted wife to her husband, who was truly her partner in every sense of the word. Their bond was built on love, laughter, and a deep respect for one another. He was her rock, and she brought a fierce love and strength to their relationship. Together, they created a life filled with joy and shared memories. Regina's feisty spirit and vibrant personality added an undeniable spark to their home, and her absence leaves a deep ache in his heart.
Known for her joyful, feisty nature, Regina loved to hand-dance, line dance, and could always be counted on for a good laugh. She had a playful sense of humor and a gentle yet persistent way of reminding her oldest daughter, TaKhia, to bring the "smell goods" (perfume) whenever they went out, with Versace being her favorite. Her bold and spirited personality made her unforgettable.
Regina's legacy of love, joy, and selflessness will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a family who adored her and memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles for years to come. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit, her laughter, and the love she shared will remain with us always.
Regina was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Huff; her mother, Elizabeth Scott; and her brother, Kevin DeWitt Scott. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, which will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Regina is survived by her devoted husband, Vance Hall Sr.; her children, Ta'Khia Mayo (Bruce), Ray Massey, Carlos Massey (Dawn), Rashawn Dixon (Daryl), and Shariya Scott. She also leaves her beloved bonus children: Felicia Walker (Garry), Talicia Scott (Dwight), Vance Hall Jr. (Heather), and Terrell Brown (Shatyra). Her 33 grandchildren, DeAnna, Jerel, Elijah, Aaliyah, Ernest, LaTonya, LaDiamond, Savannah, Raelynn, LaNiah, Devonte, Jamie, Shannon, Sienna, A'mya, Amelia, Tyrique, Chloe, Dakota, Zharia, Keith, Janiyah, Michael, Patrick, Caleb, Autumn, Yana, Terrell Jr., Harrell, Sha'Mara, Amaya, Shanell, and Cairo, were the joy of her life and will forever carry her love in their hearts.
She is also survived by her brother, Carlton Scott; her sisters, Mary Scott and Athena Mason; her step-sisters; her goddaughter, Marniesha Harper; and her favorite niece, DeNishea Jackson, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who were like family to her.
A celebration of life service will take place on Monday, December 23rd, at Cedar Hill Funeral Home, located at 4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Suitland, MD 20746. The family will welcome friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the service following shortly thereafter. We invite you to join them in celebrating her life.
