Quang M. Le, born on November 15 th , 1937 passed suddenly on June 22 nd , 2020 at his home. Survived by his loving wife Tam, five children (three daughters and two sons), ten grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, and many many adoring nieces and nephews.
Quang overcame many challenges in his life having lost his own father at a very tender age and having to work tirelessly to help his beloved mother and six siblings (four brothers and two sisters). Quang served proudly in the South Vietnam Army until the Fall of Saigon when he became a prisoner of war for 4.5 years. Upon his release and driven by the selfless goal to provide a better future for his children, he made the heart-wrenching decision to flee war-torn Vietnam with his young bride and their five small children. The family managed a clandestine escape and embarked on a treacherous year-long journey to the United States finally settling in the Mid-Atlantic area to start rebuilding their life in their newly adopted country. With an unyielding work ethic and willingness to forgo all creature comforts, he shepherded his family from humble beginnings to substantial stability and self-sufficiency while instilling the importance of family traditions, education, and patriotism. The 'joie de vivre' was not lost in hard work for Quang as he was a profoundly social man who loved gathering with his family, friends, neighbors, and community – he especially enjoyed reminiscing with his fellow military Veterans. Quang truly embodied the American Dream and loved sharing the story of his family's journey with exuberance, candor, and gratitude. The love he had for his family, friends, and second country was abiding and ran deep in his soul. Quang will be profoundly missed by many. We love you, Ba.
