" To live in the hearts of family and friends is never to die."
Ms. PAULA Y. CHASE, daughter of the late Mrs. Jane E. Chase and Raymond J. L. Chase, was born on January 8, 1960, in Washington, D.C. She was also pre-deceased by her oldest brother, Duane A. Jones. Her earthly pilgrimage came to a close on January 7, 2020, at Howard University Hospital.
Paula was educated in the public schools of Washington, D.C, graduating from Spingarn High School. After which, she went to Nursing School for two years. Years later, Paula received her Child Development Association Certificate for Child Care. She became a caregiver for her mom in 1993 until her mother's death in 2001. Paula volunteered at Howard University Hospital and was later hired. She also worked as a Sales Associates at Rite Aid/Walgreen, from 2006 to present.
Early in life, she accepted Christ Jesus as her Divine Savior and united with St. John C.M.E. Church under the pastorate of Reverend Weldon G. Thomas. Paula was a Vice President of the Pastor's Aid Society. One of her greatest gifts was her blessing to the church's children and youth. Paula made sure she made treat bags every occasion.
Paula Yvonne Chase leaves to cherish her memories, her stepfather, John Sliva; three brothers, Raymond J. Chase, Michael Chase and Alton Peele, Jr; two sons, Troy and Tayron Chase; two aunts, Winifred A. Hembrey (Latham Sr.) and Karen Jones Thornton (Early); one uncle, Gregory A.
