Patricia Geneva Nash was born Father's day weekend, June 21, 1953 to the late Albert Eugene and Oliphant Nash, their third daughter.
Tish as she was known attended the District of Columbia Public Schools, graduating from McKinley High School in 1972. She also attended the Corcoran School of Art where she received an Associate Degree in Art. Tish was one of Landsburgh Department Store's first teen models. She modeled for the store while in high school. She also participated in the early STAY IN SCHOOL program where the federal government hired high school students as interns while in school.
Tish worked for the Department of the Army until 1974 at which time she married Rudy Hardy. This union ended in divorce.
Tish was very artistic, she had several of her art works on display at the American Art Gallery in Washington, DC. While living in Texas she worked for Sakowitz Department Store as a display designer. It was this expereince that assisted her in obtaining a job with Neiman Marcus Department Store after returning to the Washington, DC area.
Tish was employed for the past nineteen plus years prior to her retirement for the District of Columbia Department of Corrections. She held many positions with the Department.
In 1981 she met and married Floyd Flegler, this union produced her son, Albert Julian Nash-Flegler.
Tish leaves her beloved son, Albert; her sisters, Betty Stevens(James), Karen Bevans (Alexander) and Gigi Sanders (Robert); her nieces and nephews, Kortney, Katrina, Brandon, Keith, Cameron and Sara Sienna. She also leaves other cherished relatives and friends to remember her.
A Memorial Service to honor her life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 3601 Alabama Avenue, SE Washington, DC. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland.
