Naomi Hester Riley, daughter of the late Leonard and Addie Lyons Hester was born on June 16, 1924 in Paris, Texas. She departed this earthly life to receive her crown in Heaven on June 26, 2007 in Washington, DC.
She was educated in the public schools of Paris, Texas and upon completion of her high school education she enrolled in Cosmetology School in Dallas, Texas.
Naomi relocated to Oakland, California and eventually to Washington, DC in 1957. She was retired from the Harrington Hotel in downtown Washington, DC where she had been employed for more than thirty years.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Stephen Riley and this union was blessed with three children.
Naomi enjoyed traveling, cooking delicious meals and helping others in any manner she could.
She was a loving, caring and precious soul and we shall never forget her.
She leaves to cherish the memories of her life; a daughter, Winifred Riley; two sons, Frederick and David Riley; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Ruby William and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 9:00 AM in the Chapel of the Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, Maryland. Entombment will be in the Cedar Hill Mausoleum in Suitland, Maryland.
