Obituary

February 13, 1929, Mildred Ivey was born in Marlboro County, Tatum, South Carolina to the late James and Everetta Ivey. She was one of twelve children; ten siblings preceded her in death. November 28, 2020, GOD sent from his heavenly kingdom an angel to retrieve Mildred from her peaceful sleep at home.

She had joined Syrian Baptist Church at an early age. Mildred was educated within the Marlboro County school system. Later, Mildred met and married Hoover Adams. Carolyn, James and Hoover Lee (preceded her in death) were born during their union. She then moved from Brooklyn, New York to Washington, DC after their divorce.

Mildred was first employed at Kanns department store as an elevator operator. Later she joined Mt. Airy Baptist Church. After years of work, she retired as a lab technician from Lab Tech. Her later years would be filled spending time with her family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mildred is survived by two sisters, Wilhemina Davis and Sarah Brown; one brother in-law, Laney Davis; one daughter, Carolyn Warrick; one son, James Adams; one god-daughter, Julia Bruton; two daughter in­ laws, Marjorie Adams and Calis Adams; two grandsons, Ramont Adams and Jonathan Adams; two granddaughters, Nicole Warrick and LaTanya Banks; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

The family of the late Mildred Adams "Red" wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation and love, concerns and  kindness shown to the family during this hour of bereavement. May God bless and keep you!
