IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Jane
Vample
September 15, 1919 – February 11, 2019
On February 11, 2019, Margaret Jane Vample, daughter of the late Eula Parker departed this life at the Fort Washington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ft. Washington, MD. She was born on September 15, 1919 in Fayetteville, N.C. where she spent most of her childhood and received her education.
She moved to Durham, NC as a young adult and worked at Duke University. She was a member of Oakgrove Baptist Church.
From an early age, she had a passion for taking care of people. She often times changed her children's clothes twice a day. She was a great home-maker and a famous cook throughout the neighborhood. Even though she had a large family to feed, she always opened her home to provide others with a meal and she was known to make at least two homemade cakes on Sundays. She was a faithful, kind, humble, and extremely generous servant.
She later moved to New York and became a private duty nurse. While living in New York, she became a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Vample, of Apex, N.C. She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Margie Jackson, Helen Colloway, Patricia Bobbitt, James (Sonny) Vample, Jackie Alexander, Diane Harris, and James (Skeeta) Vample. She also leaves behind a host of loving grandchildren and lots of friends and family. We will all miss her very much.
