IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Maria
Miles
February 3, 1956 – October 26, 2021
Margaret Maria Miles, of Washington, DC, born to the late Marco Vaughan and Agnes Greene, was born February 3, 1956 in Charlottesville, Virginia. She passed into eternal rest, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the age of 65.
Margaret received her Associates in Biblical Study amongst other achievements. She was GOD fearing, resourceful, knowledgeable, loving, kind, and a truly beautiful soul.
Serving God and education were the most important things, emphasized to her children and granddaughters. She believed if she learned something it was important to share it with someone else.
Margaret retired after 23 years from the National Park Service. While a Park Ranger she served as a Regional Leader. She was known as Mrs Mary McLoed Bethune. She worked tirelessly at whatever park service site she was posted at. Margaret bridged the gap between the community and the sites. She brought history to life.
She enjoyed traveling, learning and helping others. Her travels included China with the National Park Service, Alaska and she traveled to Israel three times as a seminary student, where she baptized people in the Jordan River.
Margaret Miles was a strong supporter of Faith Healing Church, Inc., Washington, DC, where her mother in love Ozel Ross was the pastor.
Margaret is survived by daughter Tanisha Wright, son James Stewart Coleman, III, (Stu); step-son Blaire (Erin) Miles; granddaughters London Wright, Elise & Carly Miles, nieces Shajuan & Taja Smith, nephew Damiene Johnson and a host of family, friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by late husband James Bernard Miles, attorney of Washington, DC; parents Marco Vaughn and Agnes Greene and sister Ellen Denise Greene Smith
