Obituary

On Friday, June 29, 2018 Louise Anita Nelson transitioned from this life to her Heavenly Home.

Louise was born to the late Luzan and Alfred Nicholson on Ju1y 21, 1927 in Washington, DC. She was educated in the Washington public school system where she went on to work at the Hub Laundry in Mount Rainer, MD for over 30 years.

On January 29, 1952, she married Leroy Nelson and from that union five children were born: Juanita Nelson, Leon Nelson, Brenda Nelson, William Nelson and Ellen Nelson (Bero).

"Mama" as everyone called her was a dedicated, devoted loving wife and mother. Her sweet personality and unselfish nature radiated love to everyone that entered her home. Upon entering everyone knew they were entering a home filled with cooking, love and stories of her early days. No one left her home without a full stomach and being caught up on all the major soap operas, stories as she called them. Every conversation and encounter with friends and family she would end it with, "I love all of y'all and y'all love one another." She was also fond of saying, "Look up, because God is looking down on you."

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Alfred Nicholson, Jr., Herbert Nicholson, and James Nicholson, sister, Gladys Eldridge, three grandsons Brandon Lee Williams, Joseph (Nick) Nelson and DeShawn Holloman and one great grandson, Darrell D. Williams, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, sister Ellen Worthen, son-in-law Patrick Bero, daughter-inlaw Lloyce Nelson, nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
