Linda M. Jones, 75, was ushered into eternal rest on July 16, 2023, at Georgetown University Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1948, to the late Norman and Frances Martin in Washington DC.  She had 3 brothers and 4 sisters.  She was educated in the DC Public School system and graduated from Eastern Senior High School. She began her career in the District of Columbia Government, with the Department of Human Services and ended her professional career retiring from Federal Service with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Linda was united into holy matrimony with the late Jerry Jones in 1982 who preceded her in death in 1995.

Linda lived life to the fullest in her retirement. She traveled the world with close friends and family. She was a member of social clubs that kept her active. This is where her love of dancing came into play, specifically hand-dancing with her companion Thomas "Ike" Briscoe. Linda was a "Foodie" and always enjoyed a good meal. Among her favorites, were Italian and Seafood, but more than good food, what Linda enjoyed most was good company. She was the definition of a "Social Butterfly" in the best sense.

She leaves to cherish her memory, 2 sisters:  Joyce O'Bannon (Michael), Anita Styles; stepson; Jerry Jones (Natasha); grandson; Jerry Jones II, 3 nieces: Cathleen Jackson, Cyreice Stehle, Traci Gray (Shabazz); 2 nephews:  John O'Bannon (Erika) and David Martin; companion; Thomas "Ike" Briscoe; close friends:  Karen Brown, Carolyn Haylock and Beverly Elliott and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
