John E. Martin was born on May 25, 1930 in Halifax County, Virginia and departed this life on July 30, 2008 in Washington, DC.
He served his country as a decorated serviceman in both the United States Army and the Air Force as well as the National Guard.
He leaves to cherish the memories of his life; his wife, Parthenia Martin; three daughters, Sharon Hamm, Carrie Martin and Delphine Perkins (George); three grandchildren, Byron, Joel and Charity; a sister, Lillian White; two sisters-in-law, Mary L. Hamm and Pearl Coleman and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Good Shepherd Ministeries, 6811 James Farmer Way, Capitol Heights, Maryland on Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment with Full Military Honors will be on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia.
