Janice Patrice Ruffin passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on November 26, 1960, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Janice will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew her.

Janice built a life marked by dedication, compassion, and purpose. She earned a Masters Degree, an achievement that reflected her commitment to learning and personal growth. She went on to serve as a Social Worker for the Federal Government, a career devoted to helping others and making a meaningful difference through her work. Her professional life spoke to a caring spirit and a deep sense of responsibility to the people and communities she served.

She is lovingly survived by her sister, Esther Powell, who carries forward her memory with affection and pride. Janice’s life leaves behind a lasting impression of service, strength, and quiet impact, and she will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on September 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Suitland, MD 20746. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Funeral Home. Burial will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, MD 20746.
