Obituary

JANICE LEE MOORE, was born to Cora Lee and Arnold Washington August 15, 1933. Raised in Philadelphia, PA. Janice exceled at academics at Simon Gratz high school and was an avid lover of the Arts. After Graduating from high school Janice with the urging and blessing of her older brother Arnold Washington joined the United States Navy in January 1952 until April 1957 where she earned Honorable Discharge, Good Conduct Medal and The National Defense Service Medal. While in the Navy she met and Married the love of her life Charles E. Moore USN.

Married in August 1957, they began a journey raising two boys James Henry Moore V and Dr. Charles Edward Moore II. During the tenure of their marriage Janice served two straight years as the President OF THE Ladies Auxiliary of The Fleet Reserve Association in Virginia Beach, Va. She also served as the Secretary/Treasurer of The Navy Wives OF America and Worked as Volunteer for the Navy Relief Society which she won award for Outstanding Service as Americanism Chairman.

After the death of her beloved husband, Janice moved with her boys to Washington, D.C. where she began a career July 1968 at The Department OF Housing and Urban Development where she worked for

46 years as Program Analyst during that time she also served as Membership Chairman for the National Black Women Caucus under the Director Delores C. Tucker. Janice Retired in January 2014 at the tender age of 80, devoting her Retirement time to Shopping, MGM, Live and Trump Television. Janice Transitioned on November 6, 2019, where she is survived by many numerous family and friends.
