On Monday October 15, 2018, Jack C. Thaxton Sr. peacefully departed this life. God extended his almighty hand of love and closed the eyes of our loved one indicating that his task on earth was done.

Jack was born on March 1,1940, in Bramwell West Virginia to the Late James odie and Margaret L. (Washington) Thaxton. He received his formal education through Mercer county West Virginia public school system, graduating from Bluestone High school. Jack then moved to Washington D.C. in 1961. Jack began his career of employment at Hecht's company in 1965 as a cook/Baker until 1982, during his employment at the Hecht's company he met his first wife Sally Thaxton- Mitchell. Through this Union they had one son Jack C. Thaxton Jr, and Keisha Kelly who he raised as his own. He began employment at Giant in 1982 as Head Baker where he retired from in 2015. While employed at Giant he met his second wife Kim C. Thaxton, through this Union they had Janesa T'aira Thaxton. Later in life he met his longtime girlfriend Beverly Leake. Jack had an overwhelming passion for fishing, bowling, soft ball and casino playing. Jack always brought a bright light to the room through his sense of humor and the jokes he told. He was a father figure to many. Because of the love for his family and friends he would go above and beyond for anyone in need. Jack had much love to give and embraced the love he received, as well. He will be truly missed by all who loved him but will never be forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memories, his estranged wife Kim C Thaxton and his longtime girlfriend Beverly Leake; his loving children, Jack Jr, Janesa and Keisha; three grandchildren, Jack III, Isaiah and Alexis; three brothers David, William and Johnny. Awaiting his arrival are his mother, father and eleven sisters and brothers, Edith, Geraldine, Nancy, Walter, Raymond, Joseph, Ernest, Philip, Douglas, Ted and Martha; several in-laws, niece's nephews, cousins and friends.
