Hildred Jackson of 3001 Branch Avenue Temple Hills Maryland, entered into eternal rest on June 14,2018 at Prince Georges Community Hospital. She was born May 2,1936 in Wilson County North Carolina to Annie L. Sherod Reid and James H. Reid Sr.,both preceded her in death and one sister Doris Annie Stewart. She was raised and educated in Washington DC. Hildred attended Garfield and Turner Elementary Schools, Randall Junior High School and graduated from Spingarn high School in 1955. She married Charles Jackson and of this union one daughter was born, Shelley Lauren Jackson, who passed away in Janurary 2000, at the age of 39.
Hildred worked over 40 years for the Federal Government as a money checker for the Bureau of Engraving. She was a hard worker and recieved awards from two of the mayors of Washington DC. Being a daughter of a Baptist Minister; Elder James H. Reid, her walk with the Lord started early in life. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Kendell Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed Wednesday night Bible study and Sunday Church Service where she enlightened the church with her tambourine playing.
At the time of her passing the sitter in the room with her said that Hildred said "I Love You", and just stopped breathing. I wonder who she was talking to, did the Lord come for her and she told the Lord that she loved him ?
Hildred leaves one brother; James Jr., four nepherws; Lawrence and Malcom Stewart,Charles and Adam Reid, one niece; Valora Reid Bishop, five great nephews, one great niece, and a host of cousins and friends.
