Harold was born on August 4, 1932 in Darlington, South Carolina to Dan Byrd and Rena Sims. He departed this life on April 1, 2007 in Washington, DC.
Harold is a retired employee of the Federal government. He was a member of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of World, IBPOEW, Columbia Lodge #85 and Past Exalted Ruler Council #4.
He leaves to cherish the memories of his life; his devoted wife Sara Sims; three sons Harold, Jr., Terry and Dean; one daughter Rena and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 7, 2007 from 1:30 PM until the service at 3:30 PM in the Chapel of Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, Maryland. Interment will be private.
