Hanna Eno Abunaw passed away on July 11, 2021 at age 67. She was born on August 15th, 1953. She was the first child to Richard Ashu Abunaw and Margaret Ako Abunaw. Hanna was born at the Mamfe General Hospital in Manyu division , South West Province, Cameroon. Hanna attended primary school at Basel Mission Girls School in then Victoria for a few years, after which she attended Basel Mission School in Buea for a few years and returned to Victoria Basel Mission Primary School where she completed standard 6(six) and passed The Common Entrance Examination. In 1966, after graduating primary School, Hanna attended PSS Besongabang for 5(five) years. She later went to St Gregory High School in Lagos , Nigeria for 2(two) years after which she returned to CCAST Bambili for 1(one)year and then went to London , United Kingdom where she studied journalism at London School of Journalism. Hanna's father preferred that she study law but due to her love of exploration coupled with her love for people, Hanna studied journalism. Hanna was blessed with her first miracle, a beautiful, bouncing baby girl ,Maxine , first grand child of the family while in London. A few years later Hanna returned to Cameroon to settle with her baby girl Maxine. Due to Hanna's adventurous nature, Hannah left the country once more to return to Lagos for a short stay. Hannah then returned to Cameroon and was blessed with 3 additional miracles, another beautiful daughter Felicia, who now resides in California ,2 handsome sons,Felix, and Victor, who both reside in Bowie, Maryland. In 1992, Hanna migrated to the United States of America, and later brought with her Felicia, Felix and Victor, as Maxine continued her studies in London, UK where she now resides. While in the United States, Hanna switched careers and became a Registered Nurse. Those who knew our beloved Hanna well knew that She complained a lot about her chemistry classes because she had not seen or read a chemistry book in decades. Due to Hanna's fortitude her determination and persistence, she made it through her program. Hanna's nursing specialty was in providing care for autistic children and she did that exceptionally well, as she did with most things she undertook in life. Hanna was a kind, empathetic, happy , gentle , dynamic, hard working, fashionable, vibrant, flashy woman, who enjoyed the finer things in life . She never wasted the opportunities and privileges she was born into, and created more opportunities for herself and her loved ones. Hanna was a positive-minded person who always provided a leaning shoulder to others and encouraged others to keep a positive outlook on life regardless of the circumstances an individual found themselves. Hanna held strongly the belief that tomorrow will be a better day as she wanted the best for everyone (friends and family) even if she had to be without.
Hanna was one of a kind and the void she leaves in her family, friends, co workers or acquaintances can not be filled , so we're not even going to try. Hanna loved , was loved, and will continue to be loved for forever and ever. Hanna lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of it.Hanna was a Presbyterian Christian and culturally was a front-line member of the renowned and prestigious international Manyu Women Association (MOHWA) meaning "MY CHILD" and a proud member of Ossing Development Cultural Association (ODCA).She was a Queen in every sense of the word and will be remembered as a Queen for eternity.
