GRIFFITH H. JONES

"GRIFF" (Age 85)
On Saturday August 23, 2014 at Riderwood in Silver Spring MD, beloved husband of Betty M. Jones for 45 years. Born February 26, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA he was a graduate of the University of Pittsburg and a U.S. Navy veteran. On his retirement as a Supervisory Contract Negotiator for the Department of the Navy, he received a Meritorious Civilian Service Award. A long-time resident of Bowie, avid gardener, and member of First Trinity Lutheran Church, Washington, D.C., he volunteered for their ministries, Community Family Life Services (CFLS) and Lifeline Partnership. Griff is also survived by his brother Russell T. Jones, Jr.(Sylvia), their children, Mark (Lori) Jones and Michelle Jones, all of Bowie, MD; step-daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Eric Saikin of Surprise, Arizona, and one grand child Ethan Saikin and his wife, Devora, of Winston-Salem, N.C.
