Frances Virginia (Jackson) Leonard was born on January 12, 1938, and quietly departed this earthly realm on Friday, October 24, 2025. She was born to the late Ortho M and Edna Jackson of Louisa County, Virginia. She was the last of 10 children.

She attended the public schools in Louisa County, Virginia. She accepted Christ at an early age at New Gilliam Baptist Church. Frances came to Washington, D.C. in 1957.

She has a heart for family, friends, and eating sweets. She was always willing to help others in need. Yes, we will miss her. Yes, we will cry. 2 Corinthians 5:8 says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Do not cry for me. I am better than I have ever been.

She leaves behind to cherish the memories her three children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, In-laws, an abundance of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, neighbors, and long-time friends.

Celebration of Life for Frances V. Leonard will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 215 Rhode Island Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001, with the viewing at 10:00 am and the service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 4001 Suitland, Maryland 20746.
