Reverend Dr. Evelyn Marie Williams, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully
in the early hours of February 7th, 2022, in Washington, D.C. She was born on December
17th, 1943, in Calvert Country, Maryland. In later years, she moved to Washington, D.C
to pursue her education and began her career at the Department of Commerce, followed
by joining the Chaplaincy at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Washington DC. She followed her
spiritual calling as an Evangelist and Missionary and created the Reach Out and Touch
Evangelizing Ministries. This is a Christian outreach ministry providing spiritual
counseling, employment assistance and placement, housing, food, and clothing
distribution. Reach Out and Touch Ministries later expanded internationally to Africa, the
Middle East, and the Caribbean.

She is survived by her 3 daughters: Jacqueline Juanita Spence (Melvin), Thomasena
Valencia Williams, Sharon Renee Abdullah (Isah); 9 grandchildren: Rodney Jenkins,
Jasmine Young, Ryanne Williams, Nicole Williams, Imani Williams, Ashley Nichelle
Williams, Alexis Abdullah; Vaughn A. Morgan, Michael S. Chase, Jr.; 8 great
grandchildren; Marquise Young, Adrian Mitchell, Jaayah Jenkins, Judah Jenkins;
Rodrick Williams, Rylee Williams, Remi Williams; 2 brothers: Lawrence Chew,
(Margie) and Howard L. Chew; 2 sisters: Patricia Chew , Vanessa Chew–Blocker, and 1
brother-in-law, Thomas Bookard. and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Melvin Williams; her parents: Howard
Leander Chew and Doris Mae Chew; her sons: Roderick Pernell Chase and Michael
Sabastian Chase; three brothers: Floyd Chew, Franklin Chew and Granwell Chew; three
sisters: Gloria Bookard, Faye Chew, Velma Chew.

A Home Going Celebration of Life will be held on February 25th, 2022. Public Viewing
beginning 10:00 am and Celebration at 11:00 am, at Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Suitland
Road, Suitland, Maryland, 20746. Flowers can be sent in honor of Reverend Dr. Evelyn
Marie Williams to Cedar Hill Cemetery (301 817-0120).
