Ernest Andrew Robinson was born on July 16, 1940 in Washington, DC to the union of the late John F. and Lunette Robinson. He was one of twleve children. He was educated in the Public School System of the District of Columbia.
On November 22, 1963, he enlistd in the United States Army where he continued his education while serving three years as a PFC.
Upon returning home he met Irene Packer and with their loving relationship they were blessed with a daughter, Monique "Niki" Robinson.
Ernest developed a love for "the arts." He was very talented and gifted. He had a God-given gift of drawing, typing and writing. Ernest served in many capacities; he worked for the Washington Urban League in their Senior Citizens Division as a Literary Tutor and Recreational Aide. He performed work to assist the homeless. He coordianted many programs in efforts to help the underprivileged, the deprived and displaced citizens of Washington, DC.
Ernest loved Niki's half sister, Nyja and her son Benito as his very own. His life consisited of his love for his family, his work in the community, his many loving friends and the Lord. His smile brightened the room every time you saw him. He was a compassionate man full of wit and humor, always telling funny stories and jokes.
He is survived by his daughters; Niki and Nyja; the mother of his daughters, Irene Packer; his grandson, Benito; his siblings; Annie mae Shabazz, Laura T. Brown, George A. Robinson, John N. Robinson, Charles F. Robinson, James M. Robinson, Beatrice E. Bennaugh, Ronald B. Robinson, Gloria C. Walker, Earl R. Robinson and Pauline A. Fortune; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, Maryland. Interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland.
