Dorothy Elizabeth Neugent-Proctor was born on July 4, 1917 in Sandy Springs, Maryland. Early on the morning of June 23, 2015 the Lord called her home and she passed away peacefully in her sleep at Manor Care Nursing Home. Dorothy affectionately known as "Dot" was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Ellen Proctor and Joseph Neugent.
Dorothy received her education in the Montgomery County school system. She furthered her education by going back to school and receiving a degree as a licensed practical nurse. She was a very dedicated and hard worker. Dorothy worked for over thirty years at the Dupont and Bergman Laundries.
She was a member of the Second St. James Baptist Church where she was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Taylor. She continued her Christian walk at the Soul Saving Church of God. While there she served in the capacity of nurse as well as the Mother of the Church under the leadership and guidance of the late Rev. B. D. Hines until her health began to decline. In November 2013 Dorothy was placed at the Heartland Manor Care Nursing Facility.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Proctor, her father Joseph Neugent and her son Russell Bernard Proctor Sr.; her siblings Jessie Proctor Turpin, Charles Alfred Proctor, William Neugent "Bubby" and Mary Jane Tyler.
Dorothy leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her children, Dorothy Elizabeth Sanders, James Walter Proctor Sr., John Thomas Neugent Sr., Howard Victor Proctor Sr. (Delores), Minister Gloria Serita Proctor; one sister Rosalie Dickens, one brother Robert Louis Proctor; one brother-in-law Rev. Clarence Tyler; thirty-four (34) grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
