Of Clinton, MD; Beloved husband of Gail A. Lanier; two sons, Donald M. and Gregory W.; brother of Emmett M; two granddaughters, Lauren F. York and Skylar York.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett M and Ethel L. Hinton and his daughter, Donna York.
Mr. Lanier was a Captain with the Prince Georges County Sherriff's Dept. for over 30 years.
The family will receive family and friends for a viewing on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 2-4pm at Cedar Hill Funeral Home in Suitland, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 am at Cedar Hill Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, Maryland.
