Dolores M. Hernandez, whom to her family and friends was known as "Mama Lola", departed to heaven on June 12, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born on September 15, 1928 in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Piedad Lopez-Vides and Jacinto Montenegro. She was married to Mariano Hernandez in 1944. They had four children Cesar Hernandez, Magin Hernandez, Maria Elena Hernandez, and Sonia Juarez (Hernandez). She worked in a clothing factory, McGregor, and she would have shown you how to iron the clothes the right way. She always invited her nieces and nephews along with her family to road trips and adventures. Her mother and she worked hard to rebuild her home when her husband died.

In 1976, she came to the United States and worked at Blackie's House of Beef for 25 years. She retired to take care of her mother who lived to be 102 years old. She always had time to hear your stories and she would always give advice. Family and friends will share that if it wasn't for Mama Lola, things would have been different. She lived her life as free as a Quetzal where she was her true self to the end. Her legacy carries on with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
