Clarence Kelvin-Isao Nichols was born on June 10, 1963, at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, Maine to the late Kiyoko Maehara Nichols and Clarence Jerry Nichols. The youngest of three siblings, affectionately called "Nick" by friends and family but his sisters Anita and Katrina called him "Calvin".

Nick graduated from Surrattsville Senior High School in 1981 where he received many accolades and was a great sportsman. After graduation Nick decided to follow in his father's footsteps and joined the United States Air Force in the fall of 1981 and served 4 years of service and was honorably discharged. He returned home to Clinton, Maryland and attended the Control Data Institute where he received a degree in Information Systems Science. Nick then started his career as a Computer Operator with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). He later became an IT Specialist Program Manager and served thirty-two dedicated years at FDIC, retiring in 2021.

In 1989 Nick met and fell in love with Cheryl Brown Nichols and they were married at the New Mount Olive Baptist Church. Nick and Cheryl have three beautiful children, Kelvin I. Nichols, Kiyomi N. Nichols, and Kyle K. Nichols. Nick took pride in his family and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, always making time for his wife and kids, especially his grandchildren Kyree and Clarise. Nick was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Anyone who met or knew him, the first thing they would learn about Nick was that the Steelers were his team.

Nick was preceded in death by his father Clarence Jerry Nichols, October 5, 2008, and his mother Kiyoko Maehara Nichols, November 21, 2021, mother-in-law Delores Keyes Blocker, January 2014. Nick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 32 years Cheryl Brown Nichols, oldest son Kelvin Isao, daughter Kiyomi Nicole and Kyle Kentaro. Two grandchildren, Kyree Anthony Smith and Clarice Nicole "Ressie" Nichols. Sisters Anita Swann and Katrina Posey (Yvon), in-laws Thomas Brown and Hilda Brown, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and so many loving friends. Nick will be greatly missed but the love he shared will continue to live on in our hearts and memories forever.
