Bernice Beatrice Murphy, 82, of Capitol Heights, MD passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Southern MD Hospital.

Born June 6, 1930 in Charlottesville, VA , she was a daughter of Will and Mary (Hill) Dowell.

Mrs. Murphy was a registered nurse.

Surviving is a daughter Renee' Simone Murphy; eight grandchildren including Lataya and Blake Murphy; one great grandson; a sister, Catherine Bowles; a brother-in-law, John Bowles; as well as six nieces and six nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Gray Murphy; a son, Mark Edward Dowell; and a sister, Wilma Piggy Watson.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 5th at Cedar Hill Funeral Home, Inc., 4111 Pennsylvania Ave., Suitland, MD.

Friends will be received from 12 noon until the hour of services.
